Got some rough old Ala Kart bits and thought it would be fun to do an update of this iconic show car. Nice thing about working with junk is that you can only make it better. Funny, but it seems I enjoy rebuilding sad old grotz more than starting with virgin kits these days.
First mockup. Partially stripped paint, alrered wheelbase and ride height, chopped the top about 4 scale inches, raked the windshield, lengthened the bucket about 6. Shortened the bed about a scale foot, making up clamshell, chopper-inspired rear fenders from two sets of originals.
Maybe Viper power to justify the long nose. The original car had a Dodge Red Ram hemi, so a big Dodge Viper engine seems appropriate, and I've got a couple of partial donor kits. Probably going with Viper rear suspension and Alumu Coupe front.
