repairing divots and indentations on a vintage plastic model car kit

Hello,

I recently bought a sealed Jo Han '68 Chrysler 300 and when opened (yes, I build them) I noticed the passenger's side body which had been resting on a sprue for 30+ years had been left with dents, scrapes and divots from the sprue. It isn't REAL bad but how would I go about fixing this? The kit is in tan and I do build them, and to have to paint it would be a shame since the color is so nice (it is a 2nd "small box oldies" issue mfr'd about 1981). Should I leave it or try to fix it? If so, how? I have never encountered this so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Mike
