Pontiac Type K Sportwagon Concept Car

I saw this at the Chicago Auto Show in 1977.  Fell in love with it then.  About 1980 i found SAE and in the March 1983 Issue was an article showing how to convert the US Airfix Snap kit to a full detail kit with a Monogram Trans Am kit.  rounded up the parts and got to work on it at some point.  In 1995, I build a house and moved, Life got busy and finnally about 2 years ago I was able to build my workshop.  Built a few things and while searching for something to work on while another project was stalled, i found this again.

The engine bay gets cut from the T/A kit and grafted onto the Airfix body.  Chassis is modified to fit also.  nose from the T/A gets used since the Airfix body is wrong for the year as are the wheels.  Mirrors, steering wheel, shifter from the T/A kit get used because they look better.  Paint is Centari Acrylic Enamel 1978 Metalic Silver from a body shop.  the hood decal from the Airfix kit is a rub on so I scanned it and made a decal.
